Explore the Complete Anatomy Brain Beta: Now live!

Now live in Complete Anatomy, our Brain Beta offers a first look at the all-new 3D brain, featuring intricate structures with detailed descriptions and learning tool such as brain mapping and 45 cross-sections across three planes. Built through years of collaboration between our team of medical experts and 3D artists, the new 3D brain is grounded in trusted anatomical references and real MRI data to deliver exceptional accuracy.

Additional structures, deeper integrations, expanded language support, and advanced navigation will be introduced later this academic year as we roll out our updated neuroanatomy experience.

Explore the Brain Beta

Start exploring the new Brain Beta today by updating your Complete Anatomy app. Once updated, you will see the new Brain Beta button on the Complete Anatomy Hub. Tap it, and you’re in!

Select any structure, and you’ll see its name, anatomical location, and a detailed description. You can rotate, zoom in, and check it out from every angle.

Cross-sections

The Complete Anatomy Brain Beta introduces an all-new cross-sections experience, allowing users to explore the new 3D brain through axial, coronal, and sagittal planes. With 15 slices per plane and 45 total views, this feature highlights the exceptional level of detail captured in the new 3D brain model with two ways to explore:

  • Picture-in-picture: Scroll through each slice in detail with a miniature 3D brain model always visible for reference.
  • Split view: Explore a split-screen view that places the 3D brain model alongside detailed cross-sections. Designed for study and exploration, it helps users build connections between 2D and 3D views.

Map of the brain gyri

Discover the first of our Brain Maps, highlighting the cerebral gyri, the intricate folds and ridges that cover the brain’s surface. Available through the Layers menu, it can be viewed and explored like any other anatomical structure. Users can customize their view by turning on the layer on to reveal greater detail or off to simplify their view.

What is coming next

Whether you’re introducing foundational concepts or exploring advanced neuroanatomy, the new 3D brain rolling out this academic year provides a powerful new way to visualize complex structures and spatial relationships. Additional structures, deeper integrations, expanded language support, and advanced navigation will be released later this academic year as we roll out our updated neuroanatomy experience.
